Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By installing or using Strata by Accountive ("Strata"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, uninstall the extension.

2. Description of Service

Strata is a browser extension that provides productivity and bulk-operation tools for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant. It operates within your browser and interacts with your QBO account through Intuit's APIs using your existing authenticated session.

3. License

Strata is proprietary software owned by 724841 NB Ltd. operating as Accountive. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or distribute the extension or any part of it.

4. Subscription & Payment

Strata Pro is offered on a subscription basis. Subscription fees are billed in advance, on either a monthly or annual basis depending on the plan you select. Annual subscriptions are billed in a single up-front payment for twelve months of access. You may cancel at any time through your account portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, your Pro access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, after which Strata reverts to the free feature set. No data is deleted on cancellation; you may resubscribe at any time and your settings will be preserved.

Strata Pro includes a free trial period during which Pro features may be used at no cost. Trial details are described on the pricing page at the time of signup. After the trial period ends, monthly subscriptions are non-refundable; you may cancel at any time as described above. Annual subscriptions are refundable within fourteen (14) days of the initial purchase date. After 14 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable but may be cancelled at any time, with Pro access continuing until the end of the prepaid term.

Refunds for confirmed billing errors, accidental duplicate charges, or extended service outages will be processed within 10 business days of approval, regardless of subscription type.

If we are unable to process payment after multiple automated attempts, your Pro features will revert to the free tier until payment is successfully completed. Your account and data will be preserved during any payment lapse.

Accountive reserves the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' written notice via email to the address associated with your account. Price changes will not apply to the current billing period, and you may cancel before any new price takes effect.

5. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of all data entered through Strata's bulk tools, including client setup, journal entry imports, and account merges. You must have proper authorization to access and modify the QBO accounts you use Strata with. You must comply with Intuit's Terms of Service and your own obligations regarding client data privacy and security.

6. No Warranty

Strata is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all QBO configurations. QuickBooks Online is a product of Intuit Inc. — changes to QBO may affect Strata's functionality at any time.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Accountive shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of Strata. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the extension in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of Strata is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Intuit Relationship

Strata is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Intuit Inc. QuickBooks, QBO, and QBOA are trademarks of Intuit Inc.

10. Termination

We may discontinue or modify Strata at any time. If we terminate your access for a violation of these terms, no refund will be issued for the current billing period.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick, Canada.

12. Communications

We may send transactional emails related to your account. We will not send marketing communications without your express consent, in accordance with CASL. For material changes, we will notify active subscribers by email.

14. Data Location

Account information, subscription details, and authentication data are stored on infrastructure operated by Supabase, with primary hosting in Canada (Central — Toronto region). We have selected this provider for its security practices, reliability, and Canadian data residency.

Strata does not transmit or store the data you work with in QuickBooks Online. Your client information, transaction details, and account contents remain within Intuit's QBO infrastructure and are never accessed, copied, or stored by Strata or Accountive.

By using Strata, you consent to the storage and processing of your account data as described above.
