Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Accountive (724841 NB Ltd. operating as Accountive) collects, uses, and protects information when you use Strata by Accountive (the "Extension") and our website at strata.accountive.ca.

What Strata Does

Strata by Accountive is a Chrome and Edge browser extension that adds productivity features to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA). Strata operates within your browser and your existing QBO session — it does not connect to QBO from external servers.

Data Collected by Strata

Strata collects the minimum information needed to manage your subscription and improve the product:

Email address — used for account creation, billing, and product communications.

Account identifiers — a randomly generated installation identifier (UUID) created on first install, used to associate your subscription with your installations.

Subscription status — your plan tier, trial state, and feature access.

Product usage — Strata records which features you use and how often, so we can manage feature trials, improve the product, and provide usage summaries within Strata.

We do not access or store the data you work with in QuickBooks Online — your client information, transaction details, and account contents remain entirely within QBO.

Network Requests

Strata sends requests to Intuit's QBO API endpoints using your existing authenticated session. Strata also contacts Accountive's own servers to validate your subscription, manage feature trials, and record aggregate feature usage. No QBO data is included in these requests.

Strata does not contact third-party analytics, advertising, or telemetry services.

What Strata Does NOT Collect

The contents of QuickBooks Online files, transactions, or reports · Customer names, balances, or financial details from QBO · Your QBO login credentials (Strata uses your existing browser session) · Browsing activity outside of QuickBooks Online · Personal information beyond what's needed to manage your account.

Third-Party Libraries

Strata uses standard open-source libraries for browser extension functionality. These libraries operate locally within your browser and do not transmit data externally.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and similar laws in other jurisdictions, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your account and associated data, withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time, and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@accountive.ca.

Communications and Consent

If you join our launch list or subscribe to Strata, we may send you:

Transactional emails — account-related notifications, billing receipts, security alerts (you cannot opt out of these while you have an active account).

Product updates — feature announcements, release notes, important changes (only if you opted in).

Marketing emails — launch announcements, promotional offers, early-adopter pricing (only if you opted in, and you may unsubscribe at any time).

In compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we maintain records of when and how you provided consent for each type of communication.

Data Location

Account information, subscription details, and feature usage data are stored on infrastructure operated by Supabase, with primary hosting in Canada (Central — Toronto region). We have selected this provider for its security practices, reliability, and Canadian data residency.

Strata does not transmit any of your QuickBooks data to these systems. Your QBO data remains within Intuit's infrastructure.

Canadian Privacy Law

Accountive complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via email if you have an account with us.
